Chiostro di San Francesco

8 min on foot
Via San Francesco, 80067 Sorrento NA

The Cloister of San Francesco is a small 14th-century courtyard next to the church of the same name, with rounded arches and tufa columns. It's one of the quietest places in the centre of Sorrento.

Entrance is free during the day. In summer the cloister hosts civil weddings, photographic exhibitions and the occasional chamber music concert.

A few steps away are the Villa Comunale gardens, where the view opens onto the Bay. Cloister + gardens make for a half-hour walk worth doing, especially at sunset.
